Sleepdust
Sleepdust: Uber Drivers Singing Lullabies is a compilation of lullabies sung in different languages by Uber drivers in London. During Oskay’s conversations with the taxi drivers in these daily journeys, she decided to collect lullabies from them, each revealing stories related to migration. The work is also about displacement, sleep, gender and masculinity, care, peace and conflict, and labor.
Drivers names are: Plumen, Ibrahim Noori, Mohammed Khan, Abubakar Mohamed, Byob, Ash, Andualem, Olufemi Daniel, Marcos, and others that wished to remain anonymous.
